What is erectile dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is when you regularly find it difficult to get or maintain an erection firm enough for sexual activity.
Occasional erection problems are common. Stress, tiredness or drinking too much alcohol can sometimes make it harder to get an erection, and this doesn't necessarily mean you have an ongoing medical condition.
However, if the problem keeps happening, it may be worth seeking medical advice. Erectile dysfunction can affect men of different ages and may be associated with physical health conditions, psychological factors or a combination of both.
The encouraging news is that there are several ways to manage erectile dysfunction, depending on what's causing it.
