Lactose intolerance is a common digestive issue that can cause bloating, gas, diarrhoea, and stomach pain after eating dairy. The most common type is inherited, so if lactose intolerance runs in your family, it’s a good idea to get tested. While there’s no cure, cutting down on lactose usually helps manage symptoms. Our convenient genetic lactose intolerance test checks for two variants (C13910T and G22018A) in the MCM6 gene that affect how well your body produces lactase—the enzyme needed to digest lactose.
